The bedroom ceiling in our let property has a stain from a water leak. I've painted it previously but it's showing again. How do I cover it once-and-for-all?

I used "Cover Stain" which I bought at a local decorators merchants. Works perfectly. It's an oil based paint.
"Silver paint", i.e. the sort of paint with powdered aluminium in it also seems to work.
With a shelac based sealer. (google shelac based)
Yes, that would probably work but you're more likely to have a old tin of undercoat or gloss lying about
Iused gloss white as thats all I had, gave a couple of coats then painted over with emulsion, worked fine.
Thanks, all. I'm going to be glossing so I'll stick a brushful or two on the stain for starters.
