Whirlpool Duet Washing Machine Door Lock Issue

Ok...so I my whirlpool duet washer is driving me crazy! It will not unlock the door. What do you suggest?

1) Put it on the curb and buy a better brand. 2) Call Customer Service at the company to see if there is a product recall/repair bulletin in force. 3) Take it to an appliance repair shop. 4) Check the installation for errors, off level, etc. 5) Use a commercial laundry service until the problem is resolved.

You forgot, put an M-80 in the door area and blow it open, then go buy top loader.

Have you tried rebooting it? (pull the plug from the receptacle for 30 seconds then plug it back in)

The most common reason for a dl error is the main board, especially if you can hear some clicking coming from it after you push start. It is located at the rear of the top of the washer. The board will need to be replaced, either by you or a qualified servicer.

My post above is for WP Duet washers, as well as Kenmore HE3, and Maytag Epic. All of these are essentially the same machine. The post does not apply to the Duet Sport, HE2, or Epic-Z machines, nor Frigidaire machines, as their error codes and causes are different.
