Good home radon detector kit?

Anybody have any facts or opinions on a good home radon detector kit?

It would be used just once, to see if a prblem exists.

Thanks

Check your local yellow pages. You get a canister and leave it open for a few days, seal it up, send it to a certified lab, and you'll get a detailed report. The canister must be left undisturbed. Repeat the test in 6 months. You get a more unbiased test if a technician places/collects the canisters. Lower levels will usually have higher levels of radon. Sorry, you can't get an accurate reading with just one test, levels vary from month to month. Exposure to radon greatly multiplies the hazard for tobacco smokers and the unborn.
