Does anyone know of a good tutorial on how to point a brick house?

Look at the BIA (Brick Industry Association) web site. The Tech Notes section have good information. Pay attention to recommendations for mortar prep. TB

The Posting on Ebay is for a "re-pointing gun", and says it has some streaming video available on "how-to"

Good luck.

I don't know anything about brickwork or "pointing" but was intrigued by this post enough to go and learn a little bit at least.

after years of pointing chimneys and walls with a slick and strike, i nearly cried the first time i saw a recent immigrant from europe using a cake icing bag to do the same job in one tenth the time. that was ten years back, i now see that marshalltown and others are manu'g the bags for brick and stone work. hint: use silica sand for high speed results!
