REVIEW - Veritas Small Plow Plane - www.onlinetoolreviews.com

Though not in the market for a plow plane I am a fan of Veritas so I had to see what refinements they made to the Stanley version.

This is one of the best reviews of a tool or machine that I've ever read. The comparisons with other versions of the plow plane and their significance point up the Veritas approach to tool design - start with a Tried & True design, challenge each part of that design, fix the shortcomings and make it easier to use - the shaped left hand hold for example. A small change - but the author of the review now finds the Tried & Trued design to be wanting. The photos in the review illustrated the changes, some subtle and some obvious. Sure helps having a review done by someone who knows the tool - and its ancestor(s) - AND how to use it.
