moser table joint

I am building a coffee table similar to the American Bungalow Coffee Table from the Thos. Moser catalog and wondered if anyone knows how the legs are joined to the frame holding the table top. In the picture on the web catalog it looks like half-lap joints are used to join the ornamental stretchers to the table supports (cross-members). From the picture it looks like the this four-member frame is just sitting on top of the legs. Perhaps it is sitting on top and pegged together prior to attaching top? Anyone ever have a close look at this table or have a good idea how this joint is made?

Thanks, Joel
