Think he has a lathe large enough to turn that (500 lb) fork? There are e asier ways of obtaining a sugar kettle size bowl.
Cypress is not so good for (musical?) instruments. It's too soft, not reso nant, as other appropriate woods. Nor is it that good for jointed furnitur e. Again, it's too soft of wood for tight/solid, long lasting chair-type furniture jointery. It's soft for table tops, also, but lots of tables are made with it. It's great for cabinets, though. Lots of kitchen cabinets and similar projects are made with sinker cypress.
