Then disappear in a puff of Putin inflation and take all that credit with them.

It took about 6 weeks to get my money back and didn't lose a penny.
Those who got their credit returned have actually paid for much of that returned credit in higher standing charges so very soon the standing charges will be reduced to their previous levels, or will the pigs be still flying?

They went bust because they were stupid enough to invest their assets in long term bonds which imploded in value when the Fed increased the interest rates. The Fed was always going to do that sometime. They f***ed up and got to wear the consequences of having f***ed up so spectacularly.
Why on earth do you believe it wouldn't make sense? In the UK, I think they are competing. The national grid will buy the cheapest source it can. Expensive power sources are only used when they are really needed. Eg. wind power is always on, gas is switched off at times of low load. A gas power station which sells power cheaper will be turned on first.
Nothing regulated by the government is good.
