Have you been there? I just got back from Sugar Bowl. It was wonderful. Decent snow and zero lift lines. Everybody was happy.

Interesting, but skiing used to be an all-white sport. No longer. There are all sorts of people up there now, all shapes and colors and accents.

Back around 1985 or so. It was snowing so hard we only spent half a day on the slopes before it got to white-out conditions.

Yeah, when I ski I hate it when it snows.

There's no confusion. The pattern looks similar to the surroundings. Colour blindness won't help there.

I watched 'Rabbit Proof Fence' the other night. The background of the story was Australia's attempt to breed the abo out of half-breeds by kidnapping suitable appearing children. There was a lot of interest in eugenics in the 1920s and '30s. Germany was not unique.

Von Braun and the rest of the German scientists must have gotten a laugh out of Huntsville AL in the '50s. I visited my brother who was working there in '58. I was disappointed that the colored drinking fountain didn't have colored water.

There are some evolutionary advantages to red-green colorblindness. People with red-green color blindness can differentiate between much more shades of khaki than unaffected people. This might help detecting camouflaged food in a green environment [1]. Color vision deficient people have a tendency to have better night vision and, in some situations, they can perceive variations in luminosity that color-sighted people could not [2]. However, it’s important to note that colorblindness can also cause difficulties in everyday life [3].

That never happened. What actually happened was that half cast kids were removed to allegedly give them a better life and most did end up with a much better life.

But what was done in Australia had nothing to do with eugenics.

And the pure blood abos could wander off and die? The US (and Canada) forced Indian kids into residential schools where they had to speak English aqnd conform to white culture. ALL Indian kids.
