Getting any useful figures from Harry is like trying to get blood from a stone, which is slightly surprising if his systems are as good as he claims. I sometimes wonder whether, like the Hadley Centre, he doesn't want to release the figures in case others use them to prove him wrong.

Before we bought this place we saw several like that - quite handy if the stairs go straight out of a living room. Here we have curtains, and remember to open them a bit before bedtime to let the heat upstairs.

My daughter has one. The stairs come down to a ground floor space (landing?) the width of the stairs and the depth of a door. A door to the left opens into the kitchen, a door to the right opens into the living room.
