What's this multimeter range?

Nothing in the trashy documentation that came with it. Any ideas?

According to the second post at

formatting link
it's a battery tester: "it applies a load of 42 ohms across the COM and V jack, and displays in milliamps the short circuit current of a battery under test. A good

1.5v battery thus (by Ohm's law) should produce around 35 mA."

You might want to read the longish first post on that page before doing anything with the meter which involves higher voltages and currents.

Thank you. Jeff. I'd looked at EEV, but not the blog. A reasonable AA yields about 40, so that looks right.

The destructions describe many things which aren't there - AC current, Temperature, Capacitance, Frequency, fuse - but not this odd feature.
