I think most people who have ever driven up the M1 know of Watford Gap.

Londoners have never been confused about which one they mean. The South starts at Surrey or, for taxi drivers, at the river, the East (rather than the East End, which is quite distinct) starts at Dagenham, the West starts at Uxbridge and the North at Watford (not Watford Gap).

I saw it from the train on Friday.

I've heard of waters breaking, but that's ridiculous.

Me too. Riding the Velocette through a foot of water to get to the Central Electricity Research Labs in Leatherhead (summer holiday job).

No more because as temepratures rise more water evaporates into the atmosphere.
