Has anyone a rough idea how much a 2' x 2' x 2" concrete slab would weigh, please?

According to google, Concrete weighs approx 2.3 tons per cubic metre.

Your slab is approx 60x60x5 cubic centimetres...

About 40Kgs each. Someone

Empirically, I'd concur with that - lifting one of these is a struggle, but can be just about done by one (normal!) person.

I had several dozen to shift from the front to the back of the house and managed one or two before giving up and going off to buy a sack truck. Tim Hardisty. Please remove HAT before replying by email.

about 88+lbs then.

Yes.

Ah, we use different types of sack wheels according to the load we're moving, wouldn't be without them these days!

Thank you all,

Mary

they weigh exactly 43Kg each, I lay up to forty a day on my own, don't expect to get more than 4 on a wheelbarrow, less if you aren't used to moving them.

The same as you've been told on uk.rec.gardening, where you've multi-posted this like a spammer, unfortunately. Read a Usenet primer.

My sack truck lives in the Caravan, so I always have it to hand.

What? What do you mean? I do not multi-post.

The message from Tim Hardisty contains these words:

Someone very kindly gave me 14 of the 3'x2'x2" municipal slabs. I didn'arf know about that after I'd loaded and unloaded them and carried them down the garden.

So you're not normal but super normal!

I think I susepcted that :-)

Much heavier than they were 10 years ago :-)

I can believe that. The trailer might not be as strong either ...
