We had wall panels installed in my elderly mother's shower, because she had a shower head over the bath, and never used the bath as such. Climbing in and out of the bath was for her an accident waiting to happen. I got the bath taken out, and replaced by a proper shower unit. She died over ten years ago and I now live in her bungalow since my wife died.
The wall panels in the shower are still going strong after what must be getting on for fifteen years now, but I don't know what they're made of.
