Vinyl Tiles

Ahoy!

Herself has decided that we need to make the understairs cupboard more useful and a part of this is covering the bare concrete floor that is currently in there. As there isn't much room (3 feet by 5 roughly) and it's not an area that will be seen by visitors I was planning on using self-adhesive floor tiles as a quick and easy method. Are there any obvious 'gotchas' that I should be aware of? I am currently presuming that the tiles should stick ok to bare concrete as long as it is dry and free of dust.

Cheers

The slab needs to be dry and free from ridges - though if its seldom walked on you should get away with it re ridges. Damp slabs are usable with a diffrent adhesive.

Prime the concrete first or the tiles will peel.

Have you considered an offcut of lino/vinyl flooring?

You should be able to get a piece that size for around £12-£15 with luck and it doesn't require sticking down.
