Trowel mastic

Yesterday I filled the gap under a window frame with Evo-stik trowel mastic. Today the whole length of it has been totally destroyed, I can only think by birds.

What's the best way to prevent this? Presumably covering it with something until it's dry, but what's suitable?

Where starlings have started pecking a hole into canopy underboarding, I stuff screwed up ali kitchen foil in there and they go elsewhere. Perhaps sticking sheets of ali foil over your linseed? mastic with sticky tape

Yaeh I've got a single glazed window where the butyl rubber putty got totally pecked 20 years ago, I never bothered to redo it,

If its non structural try expanding foam

If it doesn't need to be flexible use polyester or epoxy with filler - e.g. car body filler.

Once hard they wont touch it

I had problems with Magpies stripping putty and beat them by using this:

. Could you use it for the gap?
