Harry Bloomfield explained on 26/11/2018 :
..and it didn't really help. Originally most of the flow was down the rear, causing the water and bowl contents to rotate vertically, down at the rear and back up at the front.
My first attempt blocked the entire rear off, so there was only flow around the front lip, around 1/3. That due to uneven flow at the front, caused bowl contents to circle horizontally. I then widened the 1/3 out, but that just caused the bowl contents to rotate vertically, down at the front back up at the rear. So no real advantage gained and I have removed the pipe insulation.
Someone asked if it was level and yes it is roughly level.

The only observation with my Twyford loos is that the diverter needs to be adjusted to provide equal streams around the left-hand and right-hand parts of the bowl so that the two stream converge at the front of the bowl (if that makes sense). If the streams are unequal then the convergence will either be offset to the right or left and the flushing action will not be as effective as it should be.
Perfect excuse to get rid of the piss stinking carpet :-$
I see what you did there! :-)
