Thermawrap and underfloor heating

Nov 09, 2005 4 Replies

Hi,

I'm converting my integral garage into a room with underfloor (electrical) heating and have purchased some thermawrap rolls from B+Q to go over the jablite insulation to reflect the heat from the cabling above upwards.

Are the thermawrap rolls ok for this purpose?

Thanks Adrian

Extra info - it looks like this is the same product:

They claim that it works by reflecting radiant heat - which would be great if that was what you are trying to do. In your case you need to prevent conducted heat going down and as I recall from previous calculations this stuff is about as much good as a couple of sheets of newspaper at stopping conducted heat. I wouldn't bother.

Hi,

Thanks for that, the underfloor heating is down and working... I've just got to screed it tomorrow.

Cheers Adrian
