I want to divert water from a gutter across about 5m of flat, torch-on felt roof.
I've already got a collection of lengths of round and square guttering but if I try to lay them either the wind or the squirrels end up dislodging them.
The reason is to collect rain water that otherwise wants to go in the opposite direction to my water butts, but also I want to do it on a tight budget. No point in spending £££ to save £ on water.
Today's rain (Nottingham) would have been enough to fill both of my butts ready for refreshing my small ponds.
I have odd bricks and a couple of 10m rolls of shed roof felt available.
I can just manage a slope of around 1/4" per 10' before I run out of height.
Low cost inspiration please.
PS I have tried putting a dam in the guttering along the length of the flat roof but the slopes on the roof are too far down the wrong end so it overflows before reaching the high end.
