Storno vehicle radio & stuff for grabs

I've just taken a load of radio stuff out of my ex-Transco van. There's a Stornophone 6000 (VHF/UHF?) radio with a base box and a dash panel, an ATHENA box that also says DOPRA on the front and has a membrane RESET button and Tx and Rx LEDs (so presumably a data box of some sort, maybe a modem?). There was a ginormous safe with a hinged arm which used to contain a laptop so I guess that was linked by the radio kit to base.

does anyone know how to get the black box out of its mounting cradle? It is screwed to a sheet of steel by bolts which one can't get at until one gets the box out of its cradle.

Anyway it's all sitting begging for a new home, currently in Reading but could be posted for about a tenner, I guess. If anyone would like it (and maybe to donate another tenner for it to charity?) please let me know.

To save spamming newsgroups, stick it on ebay. The storno 6000 needs to be reprogrammed to make it of any use. Depending on the model it might be better in the bin. All that rubbish about donations to charity - grow up! It was all left in the van as it's of no use to anyone.

John, are you sure it's not a scrapped Suprima board ?

Is it a PRC6000 radiophone or a CQM6000 pmr? what does it say on it's nameplate?

You'll need a key to insert in the faceplate to remove the unit. Should be easy enough to make one up. It's just a rod with a 90 degree bend on the end, only goes in about 25mm or so.

Seem to think that was for a very specialised data system. Might be worth a punt on ebay!..

Are you as arrogant as that when your on the air?...
