Stat and Valve Central Heating Issues

Hi all

Not sure where the issue is here!

I have Honeywell CM67 wireless stats with HC60NG relay boxes and recent Detach Pro motorised valves. I *think* the problem I am experiencing had started before the swap of the motorised valves.

If I set the upstairs stat to manual and increase the required temperature above the current ambient value, the little flame icon appears in the display to show that it is calling for heat. At this point, the relay box clicks reassuringly - all good so far!

On the relay box, although the green light illuminates, it is immediately followed by the red LED. The indicator light on the motorised valve illuminates as it should, but instantly the relay box clicks and the light goes out on the valve. As far as I can see there is no time for the motor in the valve to operate before the process is cancelled for some reason.

I have split upstairs and downstairs heating zones, each using the same hardware, so can see how the stat, relay box and valve should operate for the upstairs zone. The troubleshooting guide does not include the behaviour experienced.

Anyone shed light on this please?

Thanks

Phil

Are you sure that you mean CM67 - 'cos I've got a CM67 which is a programmable stat - but it ain't wireless. Its switching relays are integral with the stat.

I will assume that you mean CM927 - which IS wireless, and links to a HC60NG relay box.

A red light on the HC60NG indicates loss of connection with the stat either because some bit of structure is getting in the way of the wireless signal (unlikely if it worked in the past and nothing has changed), or defective batteries in the stat (more likely). Check the batteries and, if necessary, replace them - and see whether that fixes the problem. [The last line of my troubleshooting guide refers to the batteries]
