Hi All as per the subject line - any suggestions for a UK source of 1/2 AA NiMH rechargeable batteries? (ie half the length of AA batteries, so two in series can make an AA-sized 2.4V battery).
The only place I can find is RS, but they are a bit pricey for my use (possible repair of an electric toothbrush).

maybe dealextreme, aliexpress etc would be worth a look.
You might also want to search for 14250 NiMH or NiCd (AA is 14mm diameter by 50mm length or 14500, so 14250 is half size)
Are these in the brushes not slightly thicker thanAA batteries? RS is the only place I've seen them. I wonder who actually makes the cells though? Saft,

Thanks for the pointer; annoyingly I had already emailed the SBC to ask, and they hadn't been able to give any suggestions! I guess they hadn't thought I was capable of resoldering a set of three tagged 1/2 AA cells.
