Smart Meter - How to Check if its on Night or Day Rate

I have a Itron EM425-UK2 smart electric meter but cannot see any indication of whether its on Day or Night rate or 'Rate 1' or '2', (I'm on Economy7) at any particular time. My Home Display is erratic and probably wrong as it shows night rate at 11:43am!

On the old school meters there was a (mechanical) flag but on this new one I can't see any indication at all, can anyone help please because I suspect the times are set wrong? I have been through the menus but there's nothing in there that helps.

The LCD display shows a heart, a house and a three bar graph.

Thanks

Turn on a heavy load like an oven and see which reading goes up?

Is it 4 or 5 terminal?

If 5 terminal then terminal 5 (which is between 3 and 4) should be switched live corresponding to night rate.

My display changes the display when it switches. If yours is mucking about get them out to sort it. I did this when the first meter busted and it was obvious due to the non changing rate. They ended up replacing the whole meter, but I still kept my talking display. Brian

Owain Its a 4 terminal one and also I don't want to break the seal as I don't want to give EDF any suspicion that I've been in there.

I can't understand why some days the Home Display shows the meter being on the 16p/kwh night rate as late as 11:43 yet on other days its reverts to the day rate (correctly) about 07:30; its either a genuine meter rate changeover fault or its the Home Display not getting the message from the meter that the rate has changed from night to day until much later.

Very frustrating, I might rig up an LED from the E7 consumer unit.

Thanks for your help.

Do EDF give you bills with half hourly data or otherwise indicate when the rates change during the day?

No, EDF just give the Previous & Latest night rate reading and a vague statement of "Night: 7 hours between 22:00 - 08:00; usually 00:00 - 07:00" so I had to speak to EDF customer services to get a specific 00:30 to 07:30, but knowing how incompetent EDF are I want to verify this.
