I am building a shed next month, out of timber, for storage, 200ft from the house and half of it (6'x10') to be floor boarded and lined inside. I won't be running mains power out to it but I will want some minimal electric installation to provide light in the Winter and possibly to run a low wattage dehumidifier.
So I need some kind of caravan type solar panel and battery system, I guess? Can you get them off the shelf as kits? Or a wind turbine to keep a battery topped up? or both?. I am thinking 12V would be okay for everything, even to boil a little kettle maybe but I haven't looked into
12v dehumidifiers. Do need to calculate wattages? or just bung in a standard set of components- panel, controller, battery, LEDs [inverter?]? Do I need to think about fire risk?
