Seek cheap mains generator to use in garage

I am in the UK. I am looking for a cheap mains generator to use in my garage. I want to use devices such as power hand tools, vacuum cleaner, lamps, battery charger, etc.ISTR that someone recently posted that there are some small generators available in the UK for as little as £100. Unfortunately I can't find anything available for less than about £300.Can anyone advise me please. I would guess I need a supply of about 1,200 to 1,500 Watts.

as I said they may have others but thanks for giving me a piece of your mind. Just a shame you can't really spare it.

I have one of the Makro 2300VA one. Its pretty good last a long time on fuel (large tank) however I just managed to snap the pull cord which is an utter pain in the arse, (I seem to be forever fixing pull cords on these kind of small engines)
