somebody fitted my worktop and upstands and made a messy job of sealing the upstand to the worktop with black silicon. he put the upstands in place and then sealed along the join, using his finger to rub it in. i'm sure i read somebody advise on a bed of silicon for the upstand to sit on?
i am currently sorting out the base units and where i didnt support the worktop fully some of the worktop has fallen slightly and the seal has been broken.so i am now wondering whether to let the worktop drop slightly and remove all the black silicon, then lay a bed of clear silicon along the back of the worktop , then raise the base unts to push the worktop up to the upstands and let it seal that way. i expect this would look a lot neater?
