Rimless wall plugs, minimal taper?

I didn't know they even did Quicksilver in slot head :-)

There seem to be a number of different options on the Screwfix site for injection resin.

Could you please post a link or a brand name?

I've managed to pull out a small portion of the wall and destroy some plaster so the skirting is off again and I am looking at more robust options.

I tried Fischer S-type plugs and bullet wood screws, which were a lot more effective, but for the final 2mm pull in the screw and plug are stronger than the cinder block walls.

A large wood plug seems to be the possible next option - I just need to be sure that I'm not just going to be pulling larger chunks out of the wall.

I used to have a load of those - I've only got the white ones at the moment.

I think I need to go larger, though, because the cinder block doesn't seem to be up to resisting the plug and screw.

I think you are on a hiding to nothing unless you kerf the back of the skirting.

It may come to that, but it is so very close......

I had half the curve pulled in nicely but when I tried to re-do one of the earlier plug holes with a larger plug it all went horribly wrong.

I can tell that with the screws and plugs I used in my last attempt I was on the very edge of what they could handle.

I did contemplate going up a plug size and screw size, and that may have worked, but big sod off wood plugs may be the sort of overkill I need.

I want to have a reasonable margin spare - not where I am now, where if I stop pulling in at exactly the right moment it will hold, but a bit more twist and the plug starts to pull the wall out.

I did not and have has not problems - but the amount of bend in my walls was not that much...

The Fischer ones are very good but the tubes won't fit a normal size mastic gun

Make sure the holes are dust free and any cavities are plugged with sealant or a dab of plaster / polyfilla.

Heath Robinson set up involves blowing out the hole with a 12v air compressor from the car powered by a 240V/12V converter for the cool box.

It certainly shifts a lot of dust.
