rewiring old induction motor - how might termination have been done?

Hi all I have an old induction motor from the early 1980s - its made by Leroy-Somer (swiss?) with a rating of 0.45kW. It has two windings and a run capacitor. It's used for a small bandsaw FWIW.I have been poking inside the contactor for ... reasons ... and realised that the 3 wires (3 cables) from the motor are perished and cracked.I would like to replace these wires but am unsure how 'far back' to the motor to go. It could be a pain to fully dismantle things and I only want to do that if I am somewhat sure of what I will find.My Question: is it likely that there will be a 'terminal block' or similar inside the body of the motor, which would allow me to fully remake the 200mm or so of cabling to the contactor? Or might there be some horrible 'flying' connection between the windings and the once-flexible cables that is would be difficult to rework?I realise that no-one can be sure about this but was wondering about general construction of these motors, and haven't been able to find a representative photo.Thanks for any thoughts J^n

Yup. Most heavy duty small motors tend to be brushed., but a two coil induction motor will work. Cheap to make. Needs a cap and a second coil to start reliably in one direction You don't necessarily disconnect the phase winding.
