A little more on how the Impact Driver performs in normal drilling would be nice. This tool, if it drills well, which I believe they do and other reports have made comments on this, would be the perfect replacement for a drill/driver, is very small and almost angle drill size in getting in restricted spaces, has power and is versatile...and is cheap when buying two batteries.

It won't. They are quite unsuitable for general work requiring control. I tried several different makes today.

The only impact driver roduct which comes close to being usable for general purpose is the Panasonic - certainly not the Techtronics Ryobi product.

The Panasonic is a switchable Impact Driver and drill/driver. Many reports are favourable on Impact drivers when drills wood and metal, not just Ryobi, although the Ryobi does get a god press.

Yep basically same tools and specs as available in many countries, including the UK, so I thought I'd post here too so you could read up on it :)
