Are there any regulations which restrict the fixing of a 4-way trailing socket to a wall? It would be fixed on a semi-permanent basis.This is the sort of thing: any restrictions the same if the flat gets rented out or sold? In other words, when I leave would I have to go around removing all the trailing sockets I've fixed to the walls!

Since they're plugged into a 13A socket the only regulations may bethat they become liable for testing as appliances.Most (well, some) of them do have some sort of arrangement for fixingto a surface.

It was probably the hacksaw which switched the breaker off on the first place, as a tea leaf tried nicking the wire. No soiled underpants left nearby?

No. Every switch and MCB was in the off position and probably had been since the bakery shut down. The new tenant who was stood next to the cut wire nearly soilt himself when it blew!

He could not see for 10 minutes.
