Failing fans can cause all sorts of problems.My trusty old linux router/gateway/firewall took upon itself to rebootspontaneously and frequently. Most un-linux-like behaviour.Cause was similar - fan blocked with crud and fluff, prolly sucked off thecat when she decided that power supplies were a useful source of bedtimewarmth.Quick blast through with Henry, and it's not rebooted once in the threemonths that have passed.cheersRichard--Richard Sampsonemail me atrichard at olifant d-ot co do-t uk

Vaguely. Paper tape more.

I remember visiting Aberystwyth in the late 1980s and they were using punched cards and just introducing their New Exciting Time-Share Service. Stirling were also using punched cards as part of their admissions procedure at the time.
