If it's normally going to be deployed, a simpler solution would be to mount it the normal orientation, but half way up the window. If it's normally going to be open you might find that intrusive.

I am sure if you cant find the right bits, it will. Other options would include Venetian blinds - Assume the issue is to not frighten the horses when you stagger down butt naked for your 3.a.m cornflakes....
A normal roller blind with an extended pole at the free end and a couple of U shaped curtain pole supports would be simple enough
My biggest worry is the spring retraction. But that should be OK with
1.2m or soTalk it over with a blind making company.
Window film?
I've used some in the above-door lights - fake stained glass. Sounds a bit naff, well, it is, but look a lot nicer than what was there to my eye.
