Who wants to?
there was a useful Edinburgh store, the site of which is underneath John Lewis and there was also Browns on George IV Bridge.
sadly no, I'd really left by 1962. Can't help going back though. Currently at least 3 times a year (until the lockdown - missed 2 )
Who wants to?

Yes, I remember RME in Stockwell Street. Visited it a lot in the late
60s/early 70s. You went in, you took a saucer, and you wandered round collecting the components on your list. You paid an assistant, and left with your goods in a brown paper bag. Great system!I also used Browns in Edinburgh, before I moved to the west of Scotland. I don't remember a shop on Lewis's site, but there was an RSC further down Leith Walk where I bought my first record deck for about £7 in 1966.
