Yes, my car still says that its MOT is due on 20 June 2020, 12 months after the last test expired, so the 6-month extension hasn't been applied yet. Maybe as it gets closer to 20 June, they will get round to adding six months on and the due date will change to 12 December 2020.
I've not heard a definitive answer as to whether the date of the test after that will be 20 June 2021 or 20 December 2021 - in other words whether it's a combination of an 18-month validity followed by a 6-month one to bring things back in line with the original schedule, or whether it's 18 month followed by 12 month and the new date will *always* be 20 December in future years.
What happened in Northern Ireland when there was an extension because of the MOT test centre hoists problem? Did the extension carry forward into successive years - was the date of the test advanced by n months for each future years or did it revert to the original date (eg 20 June in my case)?
