I don't see the problem. A deer that's been shot by as hunter does not look the same as a deer that's died of a head on collision. Why would someone ramming a deer get accused of illegal hunting?

State laws vary and I just noted that in PA you need a permit to salvage road kill.

"There are currently thirty states that allow for roadkill consumption by humans according to Wide Open Eats. Most states have restrictions including Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Pennsylvania law states that the incident must be reported to the state Game Commission within 24 hours, otherwise it is not legal to consume the animal. In New Jersey, however, the only roadkill that is legal to consume is deer and you must have a permit to do so. Some neighboring states that join PA and NJ in this list are New York, Maryland, and Ohio."

A permit to consume roadkill, don't they realise how ridiculous that is?

Liberal political mentality to control everything.

We need a Libertarian government.

An excellent idea for a business venture.

A government is a government and they all lead to the same place.

The whole idea of Libertarian is lack of governing.

Not so much for capital L Libertarians in the US.

It's been a long strange trip for them. I've sometimes voted for the Libertarian candidate when the other selections were completely odious but the Libertarians I've know IRL have been a few cards short of a euchre deck.

The Wikipedia link sounds like the perfect party, very similar to ours.

Are you saying they're not like that?

They are a party and participate in the electoral process meaning they want to be part of the government. They're lucky to get 3% of the vote so there is no danger of that but if somehow they ever won fat chance they would use the government to dismantle the government.

Why not? They're probably just people like me who think there should be way less control.

Barry Goldwater was the closest thing to a libertarian that was a serious presidential candidate. A very honest man he promised to end agricultural subsidies when speaking to crowds in Kansas and to end Social Security when talking to senior citizens. The rather sleazy Lyndon Johnson won the election with the largest percentage of the popular vote in US history, barring some uncontested elections in the early 19th century.

Even assuming a Libertarian could get elected president Trump's experience shows the almost all the rest of the government would be doing their best to subvert him (her, it).

The problem is the stupid masses who seem to want to be controlled. Is there a drug in the water I'm immune to or something? I do not follow any rule or law unless it makes sense to me. I avoid murdering people because it's wrong, not because it's a law. I bet you if it was made legal, the number of murders wouldn't go up. Those who murder do it anyway, those who don't just don't want to.

No, they want some govt services like roads etc.

No, you were born f***ed between the ears.

And are too f***ed between the ears to work out what makes sense.

Even sillier than you usually manage and that's saying something...

Plenty don't because if the serious downsides when you get caught.

Even sillier than you usually manage and that's saying something...

That's the root problem with the various flavors of libertarianism. It assumes people want freedom which doesn't seem to be the case for most of the population. What does the libertarian do with people who are not interested in liberty? They cannot be safely ignored since they will try to impose their world vision.

As long as those morons are in the minority, they're not a problem. We could drown them however.

We the People want freedom. Democrats want a free ride funded by the working people.

And then there's the voting machine problem; I think they have more crooked bots than Elon Musk found at twitter.
