I'm sure I saw something similar 30 years ago demonstrated on TV, but possibly not with a near instant setting filler. It was never to be seen again :)
I'm also sure that if you wrap a wall plug as shown in the animation and then tried to hammer it into the wall the plaster would crumble more.
Spray the hole with a bit of water. Smear some polyurethane foaming adhesive on the plug. Push the plug into the hole.
Wait a while. If there is an excess of set foam, cut it off.
Yes, might take more than three minutes to set but, if you don't have to buy it specially, it is pretty economical and effective.
What's the matter with Rawlplastic (apart from containing asbestos)?

I remember on a speaker mount we used one of those products. Lasted six months then as predicted a bigger hole was made as a lump of plaster came out with the plug.
