Putting floor in loft - to building regs - costs

I was thinking about s l o w l y converting my loft - trying to keepcosts to a minimum - first stage would be to get a proper floor inthere - i assume the only way is move some tiles and get a crane tohoist some beams in from the front? i also assume you pay hansomely tohave these delivered (and the costs of the beams) any ideas on costsand is there any other way to do it?
