Pressure washer recommendation? FAQ

Been pleased with my nilfisk E.130, I replaced hose out of choice rather than necessity, for a proper rubber one, rather than the plasticy supplied one which had a too much memory of its coiled shape.

Suspect it needs some new O rings on the banjo where it feeds into the hose drum, as it's started dripping from there, but that's all.

I have a ALDI one. It is, I think, a Niflisk, but looks a bit like a Karcher. I came with a 3 year warranty - I’ve had it 4 or 5 years. It gets used several times / year, drive, patios, and to LIGHTLY spray down the motorhome etc It has just started to be a bit iffy but still works. I suspect one of the valve seals is failing.

Given the price, a good buy.

Interesting! I have an E130 as well and find the standard hose annoying but hadn't thought of changing it.

Funnily enough I did the same thing. I put it together again, new switch and now working again. After all this is a DIY group!

I wasn't impressed with the switch. If there's an overpressure, the switch is designed to stay latched off. It's a poor design, and after a little wear the switch simply stays in the latched off position. The difference between working, and not working isn't very much.

Thanks for the recommendations but after finding out how easy it was to get Kärcher spares on line I decided to stick with the brand. My old machine must be 20 years old at least and has survived falling off an elevated cherry picker onto block paving so I know that the old ones can be tough.

Went to look at some new ones in B&Q and discovered that they were nearly all a fraction of the weight of my old one. I suspect different motor technology. Decided to go for the heaviest one there, the K5 and it’s done a great job of my mossy mouldy steps. The spinny nozzle spray is very effective. Having a machine with wheels for the first time is bliss!

Need a shower now … ;-)
