plywood part 2

Hi,

You may remember I was asking about plywood recently. I had been trawling through old posts and decided to copy a couple of you who had posted about attaching celotex to your garage walls and then putting plywood on top to protect the celotex from knocks and to allow shelves to be fitted.

I went to a roofing supplier who was selling plywood at a good price. I looked at the wood and it looked very good. I went to some other merchants and some of the stuff they were selling was horrible!

I notice in Wickes they were selling good boards but at a high price but it had the grades printed on the side "BB/CC". On the wood that I have bought the sides are painted green. There is nothing else. Is this bad news? Should the grade be printed on every board?

Since I am only using it to line a garage wall, it doesn't have to be the world's best but I'm hoping that it is as good as it looks since all the local tradesmen use it for their flat roofs. Doesn't that mean it would have to be a structural grade and wbp? Why isn't that printed on it?

I know it is recommended to seal the edges. Is that what the green paint is? Has the supplier done that for me or would you recommend that I paint on top? Or is the paint just to hide how bad the internal layers are!

TIA
