Plumbing Conguration

Hi. What is the best pipework config for bath taps and thermostatic bar shower.

shower cold bath cold tap || ||

> cold >>> --==||==-----------==||==-----

Or vice versa?

I've just discovered that the work I've done so far is crap because the cold supply to the shower is cut off when the cold tap is running.

Thanks.

Run a seperate pipe from the cold water tank to the shower and the same from the hot water cylinder.

That is what happens if you share the pipe runs.

Wouldn't it be easier to take the cold water from the header tank, and then you get constant presure. You are already doing this with the immersion for the hot water; which is supplied from the header.

Firstly have a full-bore stop-c*ck. From the stop c*ck have a dedicated 22mm pipe directly to the combi/unvented cylinder/thermal store. Just after the stop c*ck tee off and run this to all the taps, not the cold to the shower. Have an in-line adjuster just after the tee to restrict the cold supplies if it robs the supply to the hot water appliance. Just before the combi/unvented cylinder/thermal store, tee off and run this to the cold of the shower. On an unvented cylinder there may be a pressure differential point that the cold is run from.

Use a shower mixer with an integrated pressure differential valve. This ensures any small pressure differences between hot and cold are equalled out.

Doing this will give an more balanced water supply and less drops on essential lines.
