Plastering Stages

Feb 19, 2006 3 Replies

I have read that there are 6 stages to plastering on to dry board

1 Thicker first coat
2 thinner second coat
3 dry trowel
4 wet trowel by flicking water on the plaster
5 wet trowel by brushing water on the plaster
6 dry trowel

Can anyone tell me how long I should be leaving it in between these stages or what I should be looking out for before I start the next stage

Many thanks

Look back over this newsgroup on google, and you'll find a number of detailed postings on how to plaster. Plasterboard plastering is similar to reskimming a wall, except PVA is not used. If your "dry board" is something other than plasterboard, you'd better give more details. Use plasterboard plaster, or multifinish works too.
