Plasterboard walls

Take the architrave off, add a strip of wood to increase the depth of the frame and put the architrave back?

Some of the larger house builders now attempt to entomb as much scrap PB as they can in stud walls on places they are building. Saves disposal problems, and probably helps with sound insulation a bit!

Many thanks for the ideas.

On two walls I have completely removed the plaster board. One which had already be part second boarded, and so a disaster. The other requires insulation put in the void so no choice.

On one wall I will put on a second layer of PB and modify the architraving accordingly as per suggestion.

On the last wall I can't afford to increase the thickness and it will interfere with existing frames. This has been dot and dabbed onto a brick wall so fairly firm. I have removed the wallpaper and the top level of cardboard, there was no scrim tape over the joins. I intend just to add a modest skim to this.
