Bored. So here we go.

Got a lad on a 2 week trial.

Small garden office/bar/music/TV room etc about 6m by 5m. New build.

So I did some work and then asked the lad to sweep up.

There are only two inanimate objects (three if you count that useless bastard) in the room. One is a sweeping brush and it is leant up against the other inanimate object.

See if you can guess what it is.

When the lad said "I cannot find the sweeping brush"

I replied with

"Well there only two items in the room. Ones a sweeping brush and the other is a ******* ***** ****** ***** are your eyes painted on?"

I'll swap the * for the correct letter and do the other stuff Wordle does.

Cheers

Shovel or a dust pan depending on the amount of debris.

Leaf Blower ?.

Was this day 1 ?, 9 to go.

Does the first word start with an F and end in a G ?

"Shovel" and "dust pan" gives

*u***n* ***h t *ello* p*ano

Perhaps he couldn't see the yellow piano because it was covered in a dust sheet?

F****ng great yellow piano?

Perhaps the size and colour of the piano confused the boy.

The camouflaged sweeping brush could have been yellow?

Maybe. But I'm kind of guessing that this hapless apprentice won't have any excuse whatsoever for his lack of observational awareness when the true story emerges... Just a hunch. ;->

Perhaps he hadn't seen a sweeping brush in his sheltered life?

There was a local news article of a young friend, many years ago I might add, who failed to get on an apprenticeship course for being "too bright a spark".

There was a home economics/cookery student who declared he did not know chips came from potato’s!

Chips come from silicon dioxide, a.k.a. sand!

But not just any old sand. Only mines like the Spruce Pine Mine can obtain sand with sufficient purity.

We've come a long way from an invisible sweeping brush!

They don't, they come from potatoes! :)

everyone knows chips come from sand!

How else would we have computers, sat nav, smart phones, radio, TV, satellites etc?

Well he had a go at using it once I showed him where it was.

He nearly swept up a quarter of the mess before declaring that he had completed his task for the day. Basically just an half arsed effort by a lazy bastard 19 year old.

And today he really pushed his luck too far. He changed the station on the the radio in the van halfway through pop master. That is unforgivable and his trial has ended in failure.

Did he change over to Radio 3?

No. Although that is on my list of preset channels. Quite relaxing sometimes on a long journey.

And so is radio 4.

I listen to Breakfast at 6.30, whilst making the coffee. Petroc Trelawney has a wonderful voice. He's the DJ.

I've got Pop Master playing right now on Alexa.
