Is he unable to move with the times and use more appropriate technology for his digits?

I remember when you could go to Soho and pick up great big racks of equipment from surplus stores that seemed to be full of Nixie tubes and other glass enveloped devices. Brian

LED lighting under valves or nixies looks wrong to me.

You should see my Marshall amp. Neon mains all tubes except for some LEDS and transistors as switches and indicators!

If you want uplighting, you should use a a gas discharge lamp, my in a nice VFD style blue/green?
