Yests are not vegetables
Yests are not vegetables
Indeed. But they are closer to mushrooms than to animals.
Companies taking over companies making good products operate the reverse Midas Touch to increase profits.
Hey, that sounds like the UK electorate, especially when it comes to making a fully considered decision on the EU! [1]
What do they say about mushrooms ... keep them in the dark and feed them bullsh1t ... ! ;-)

The word vegitarian doesn't mean a person that eats vegatables.
Is yeast an animal or a plant?
It doesn't matter anyway as bacteria and stuff like that are animals and you can't avoid killing them even if you want to be a vegan. You just have to decide to ignore them. Then you may as well ignore other stuff too.
By their method of nutrition - taking food from other organisms - yeasts (and other fungi) are closer to animals than (photosynthesising) plants.
Neither, according to Winky. They are funguses, which are a separate "kingdom" (their word).
Yes - they have mitochondria rather than chloroplasts.
Written by a vegan or an expert?
Bacteria and Animalia are a long way apart on the 'tree of life', Fungi (including Yeasts) are somewhat closer to Animalia.
How should I know? I'm not from Vega.
I've seen a shiny black tanker of the stuff leaving the brewery in Burton on Trent. Some years ago one overturned on the M1.
Figs are another interesting one for veggies.
