OT ish : chromecast "clone" issues....

Got given what appears to be some eBay clone of a Chromecast device that has issues.

1 I can screen mirror to it from androids etc ok

But

2 the pretty ropey instructions claim it will do dlna but needs setting up on my network. The device puts a splash screen on the TV with an SSID and the instructions kind of say I should be able to connect to that SSID, browse to a certain IP addy & configure the thing to use my network settings from then on.

But it doesn't appear to broadcast any wireless network with or without SSID according to "WiFi Analyser" on my phone sat right next to it. Phone does 2.4g & 5g as supposedly does the Chromecastish thing...

Any pointers or thoughts please?
