ot bbc anti-white person bias in job market?

I know of a few (unrelated) folk who have applied for technical jobs in the bbc - both tv and local radio. All these guy's are top-notch at what the do technically. The have ALL failed to get a job at one time or other with the bbc. They are also all white. Ok my sample size is not large but this observation is genuine and taken place over several years. In fact not one of them has even gotten an interview with this outfit - which is remarkable. The latest occurrence of this phenomenon took place only last week and apparently and the bbc are "unable to provide any feedback as the application". Mmmm. I just wonder if the bbc IS institutionally racist against white people?. I know a few dozen people who definitely think it is - and these people are not the type to shout sour-grapes for no reason.

How long ago was this? The BBC are getting rid of near all teccies - not recruiting more.

It was never very easy to get in at the best of times.

The 'Corp had a very inflated impression of the status value of working there. Engineers had to jump through hoops 50 feet high and when they got in salaries were quite poor (impossible to live independantly IME ) for Central London locations without overtime.

After colour was introduced (1969) in my dept there wasn't any ....

BTW just watching question time in another window.

Seems the BBC doesn't know how to spell "Broadcasting" nowadays ...

Hey - Ho.

Some of the spelling and grammar on the BBC website are downright embarrasing. Many acronyms are also wrong, I've seen Bbc, Un, Nato. Maybe the Beeb should outsource it to India instead of letting meedja studis graduits do the tieping.

Must have been once since I worked for them...

Never was much in my department so after successive pay freezes and stops on promotion I left in '76. Best thing I ever did.
