Off Topic, but may involve all of us. There could be trouble ahead...as the song goes.

China has flown 56 fighter planes towards Taiwan in the largest show of force on record, continuing three days of sustained military harassment against the self-governed island.

The first sortie on Monday of 52 planes included 34 J-16 fighter jets and

12 H-6 bombers, among other aircraft, according to Taiwan?s Ministry of National Defence. Later, four more Chinese J-16s flew towards the south western part of Taiwan?s air defence identification zone a buffer outside a country?s airspace.

Testing the waters as they say. This has been going on for a long long time. How would you feel if the Isle of Wight was suddenly to become a socialist state? I can see where they are coming from but by now one might have expected that some compromise might have been reached, but no, the US and the west in General want it to be their friend but the Chinese have a valid case. Meanwhile the people no doubt are just pawns as per usual. Brian

It's more like the IoW resisting a communist take over of the mainland UK

- but it is a few hundred miles off-shore - unlike the IoW

I am not sure why we should still, after more than sixty years, side with the losing Chinese naationalist side against the victorious communist party. I am really quite unclear why we wanted to do that in the first place.

Is that the Scottish system where "Offers over £45K" means that it will actually change hands for £250K ??.

It's not in Edinburgh.

I bought it for £48k, but as I've completely rewired it myself, fitted a new kitchen (apart from worktops), and rehung some of the internal doors, I reckon £45k would be very fair to reflect the work I've done to it.
