Mira Shower Misbehaving

So I've got one of those Mira 415 mixer showers. It's worked fine for the last 14 years, but lately it's been just going from freezing cold to scalding hot with no happy medium, regardless of the setting. I *think* (and hope) that all the gubbins of these units are confined to the knob on the wall of the shower. I suspect there's something immediately behind that which has gone AWOL. Any ideas, guys?

Probably just needs dismantling and cleaning, but there are often gauze filters or flow reducers on the inputs so it's possible that they need cleaning.

Is yours the built-in version, or exposed version (sounds like the latter) the cartridge is within a cylindrical cavity either way. Mine was fitted 30-odd years ago, I needed a new cartridge within 12 months, UI suspect I didn't flush the pipework of soldering debris/flux residue, as it's been fine since then.

Mine's an excel, be careful what year model you have as there are variations, look at the exploded diagrams and google for spare parts ...

It looks like you can replacement cartridges for Mira 415 showers of 2 different vintages for about £70.
