Not bothered following the link because most journalists seem unaware (or purposely ignore for the sake of a sensationalist headline) that most EV owners home charge and are on special EV rates that remain cheap. I’m now paying 7.5p per kWhr to charge my car at night (up from 5p). Still works out at under 2p per mile.

Wood is a fraught thing.

And the message to take from this article, is buy when the inventory is full.

formatting link
"He said the Yukon consumes up to 7,000 cords of wood each winter and permits were issued to supply more than 5,000 of them."

"A cord of firewood can go for $500 in Whitehorse these days. [Jan 11, 2022} That's if there's any to be had."

"By the end of March, he said inventory should accumulate to the point where it will cover next winter as well."

That suggests there may be a peak inventory time where you are, and that might get you a better price (in future).

Yeah, its mad. Ours are delivered in trailers or small tipping trucks. split or not split, whichever you prefer with the unsplit obviously cheaper.
